Apparently frogs explode if you make them inhale cigarette smoke (don't know if it would work with CB's e-cigarettes) but I don't see why baking soda would do anything to a seagull's stomach (although, in many ways, I wish it would!). Sounds like CB's son is inventing urban myths!
I knew a sailor back in the 70s who gave alkaselter to an annoying sea gull and it killed it, at least that is what he told me. He said birds can not burp, and the gas became too much discomfort to live thru. :(
Mmm - he seems to think the baking soda reacts with their stomach acid and does the dirty on them.
